The First Try

This page is dedicated to my first attempt at building a teardrop trailer.

The original shape of the trailer was as you see here.

With a Futon Mattress inside

I needed to adjust that design with the arrival of my 4th child. We decided the tear would need to have a bunk bed.

Reworking the design...

Here she is at one of the latter stages of her build.

Sadly, the first one did not get finished, in fact due to extenuating circumstances (medical issues, a move, job change etc.) it was disassembled. I actually wept a little bit as I took it apart. (Ironically these are teardrop trailers) Much of it was recycled but the trailer had to revert to its earlier vocation as a utility trailer. For a long time I have felt badly that I never got to finish my build, I did not even have the heart to tell my friends on the Teardrop forum that I had to stop. I have decided that it is what it is. Might as well own up to what it is.

I have not given up, this blog is a chronicle of my teardrop journey.
